Law Practice

Mr. Brown worked in Washington D.C. as a congressional aide under former U.S. Senators Conrad Burns (MT) and Chuck Hagel (NE), and then for Representative Judy Biggert (IL) prior to pursuing a career in the legal field; thus Mr. Brown brings more than six years of extensive legislative and campaign experience to the firm. Mr. Brown gained extensive research and drafting skills from serving two years as a judicial clerk for Chief Justice Gerry L. Alexander at the Washington State Supreme Court, and as a summer associate at the Seattle firm of Perkins Coie LLP. Choosing to further his legal education before returning home to Montana, in 2005 he earned a master of laws degree in taxation. Mr. Brown uses these skills to help clients meet their estate planning needs, follow corporate formalities, and engage in proactive business formation and planning. He draws from his legislative experience when representing clients before government agencies and in administrative proceedings, while helping advance their interests in Congress and at the State Legislature.

Mr. Brown is a fourth-generation Montanan, whose great-grandfather Marchesseault homesteaded the Grasshopper Valley in the 1880s. A native of Dillon, Montana, and a graduate of Beaverhead County High School, Mr. Brown has worked in the hay fields and in the halls of Congress. He has interests in politics and international travel. He also enjoys back country hiking and fishing, reading U.S. and Roman history, and rooting for the Washington Redskins and the Seattle Mariners.
